WHAT IS KYBELLA?

Kybella is a FDA-approved injectable that reduces the fat under the chin.  This is a non-surgical procedure that targets and destroys fat cells.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR KYBELLA?

  • Kybella may be right for you if:

  • You are unhappy about the fat under the chin (also called submental region).

  • You are bothered by the heaviness of the chin.

  • You do not wish to have surgery.

  • You are unable to work off the fat under your chin.

WHAT IS YOUR TREATMENT APPROACH TO KYBELLA?

Kybella is injected into the fat beneath the chin skin.  This results in reduction in prominence or fullness under the chin.  Once destroyed, the effects are prominent and fat will no longer return to the area.  You do not need further treatment once target goal is achieved. Dr. Chen's philosophy is to provide natural look to enhance the shape of your face. Kybella can also be used in other areas of the body. Many patients uses Kybella under their backside fold to create more projection for the backside.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT OF KYBELLA LIKE?

Kybella is prepared freshly prior to your injection. Once prepared, Kybella is injected into the fat pads underneath your chin using the smallest needles.  You may expect some swelling for several days after injection. Dr. Chen himself carries out the treatment plan and injection in order to provide the highest quality of care, utmost safety as priority, and efficacy.

The treatment will like 10-15 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated.

WHAT IS THE POST OPERATIVE CARE AND RECOVERY LIKE AFTER KYBELLA?

Ice compress may be applied over injection sites. Instructions will be given on how to care for your chin after treatment.

Everyone’s chin profile is different.  The number of treatments varies from patient to patient.  Each treatment is given at least 1 month apart. Dr. Chen will help determine how many total treatments may be necessary to achieve your goal.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OF KYBELLA INJECTIONS?

You will have a smoother, tighter, more youthful appearance of the neck. It can help add projection to the backside when injected into the upper back thigh.
